To be successful with this position you must be emotionally intelligent. You must approach every situation with a servant heart. You need to listen to what is said, repeat back what is said, and communicate clearly the steps taken during the fitting process. You must be able to read people very quickly, understand their point of view and have empathy for them. When things don’t go completely right you need to possess the confidence and experience to professionally navigate the situation and help the bride find a solution without management intervening. Planning a wedding is very stressful and they expect everything about us to be perfect.

The fitting and alterations are the final step in our bride's experience with us, and it is of the utmost importance that her experience continues to be an incredible one. 

 

We are looking for a fitting specialist and seamstress that is available to work during our open hours, Tuesday through Saturday. It is important to understand that as a seamstress, you will be required to work extra hours as needed during our busy seasons when the work calls for it. Because our brides have wedding dates, this means we have deadlines that have to be met.

The perfect team member will have these basic qualifications: 

Excellent listening, communication, and inter-personal skills

A desire to help and problem-solve

Basic experience sewing finer garments, and familiarity with sewing machines and sergers

A willingness to learn and be trained in bridal fittings and alterations

The perfect candidate will be trained at entry level in bridal alterations, shadowing fittings and doing basic sewing on garments, gradually increasing in responsibility as trained by our head seamstress. 

 

Your earning potential is equal to the effort and commitment that you put forth. Salary: $13.25 to $20/hour
